The Vail Valley is home to some of the finest performing arts offerings in the state. From the intimate, beautiful Vilar Performing Arts Center theatre, to the stadium-like venue of the Dobson Ice Arena, to the partially-outdoor Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, to the Eagle Town Park – and everything in between – there are endless options to catch a live show while visiting the Vail Valley.
As a rule of thumb, come prepared to enjoy these incredible performances, rain or shine. Many of the venues are outdoors (including the lawn seating at the Ford Amphitheater). Part of the majesty of the performing arts in the Vail Valley is the incredible natural backdrop that the Rocky Mountains provide. Always come prepared with a rain jacket, umbrella and, if you plan to be seated outdoors for a performance, bring a plastic tarp to sit on, and a golf umbrella to create a dry environment. Always be prepared for cool evenings – as with all mountain activities, layers are a safe bet. Specific performance venues can offer detailed information such as directions, parking, prohibited items and more – so be sure to check before heading out to the venue
